Authorize.Net is a solution of CyberSource Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Visa. We use Authorize.net's payment gateway service for collecting online payments from purchases made on the PMILIC website.
Authorize.Net, utilizes industry-leading technologies and protocols, and they are compliant with a number of government and industry security initiatives. Through Authorize.net's Advanced Integration Method (AIM), we host their secure payment form on the PMILIC website and send secure transactions through their payment gateway using an end-to-end Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection. AIM also uses transaction key authorization, making payment processing even more secure from the PMILIC website. (A Transaction Key is a unique identifier (like a password) that authenticates PMILIC website requests for payments through the payment gateway.)
AIM has 128-bit SSL connection between the PMILIC website and the Authorize.net payment gateway. It affords PMILIC:
- Collection of payment information through the PMILIC website
- Generates a payment receipt to PMILIC purchaser(s)
- Secure storage of cardholder information on Authorize.net's PCI-compliant data center (never stored on the PMILIC website)
Additionally, PMILIC utilizes Authorize.net's Fraud Detection Suite (FDS), which includes Card Code Verification (CCV) and Address Verification Service (AVS). Credit Code Verification (CCV) is a feature that verifies the 3 or 4 digit code from the customer's credit card (back or front of card) match with the card-issuing bank. The payment gateway rejects payment requests where the codes do not match.
