A. Yes. The Long Island Chapter is a PMI Registered Education Provider (REP). Therefore our featured speaker presentations qualify for one (1) PDU per meeting. Since we usually hold ten chapter meetings each year, you will be way to maintaining your PMI credential. It is also important to note that some organizations accept PMI's PDUs towards maintenance of their certification! Recently, some 'pre-meeting' presentations have been held which also qualify for PDUs! Check the calendar on the website to see the full agenda at each meeting!
Procedures for Chapter Meeting PDU Reporting:
As you know, PMI credential holders are required to earn Professional Development Units (PDUs) as a Continuing Certification Requirement. Details regarding how to earn PDUs and how to ensure they are applied toward recertification may be obtained at the Global PMI website, www.pmi.org
As a service to our Long Island Chapter members, PMI LIC reports the PDUs earned from attendance at the Chapter meetings. Attendance at a monthly PMI LIC Chapter meeting earns one (1) PDU. Meetings are held monthly from September through June, generally on the second Wednesday of each month. See the Long Island Chapter website, at www.pmilic.org, for additional details, including times, locations, topics, pricing, and registration information.
The information on PDU reporting is obtained from the Sign In sheets, located at the Registration Desk of each meeting. Therefore it is imperative that any credential holder ensure that they sign in legibly with their PMI ID number. Note that it is NOT the credential number that is required, but rather the PMI ID number, which is available on your membership card or via the Global PMI website, www.pmi.org.
Apprioximately two weeks after the Chapter meeting, the attendance list is compared against the Global PMI list of credential holders. Those that are identified as credential holders are reported to Global PMI as having earned one (1) PDU.
In case of any questions or concerns regarding the PDU reporting for the Long Island Chapter meetings, please contact our Vice President of Membership, Barbara Regan Falci at bfalci@pmilic.org.
We are pleased to provide this service to our members and welcome all comments and suggestions.
Please note that all PMILIC events will be held unless otherwise noted on the PMILIC website, www.PMILIC.org. For those who pre-registered we will attempt to send an email notification if there is a change or cancellation, for example in the event of inclement weather. Please be sure to check our website as well as PMILIC’s LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter pages.
