PMILIC Refund and Credit Policy

Refunds will be granted on an exception basis at the discretion of the PMILIC Vice President of Finance.  In all cases, any refunds granted shall not be for an amount greater than the amount paid to the account from which the refund will be paid.  The PMILIC Vice President of Finance may consult with any persons, including but not limited to the relevant PMILIC Board of Directors member who is/was responsible for the event in question, that the PMILIC Vice President of Finance feels is necessary to determine whether to grant a refund and what the refund about shall be.

At the PMILIC Vice President of Finance’s discretion, the person requesting the refund may be required to submit their mailing address and/or a written statement justifying the refund request.

Refunds will generally not be granted unless the request for a refund is received by the Vice President of Finance at least two (2) weeks prior to the scheduled start of the event.

Refunds will not be made for any events costing $20 (USD) or less.  At the discretion of the PMI-LIC Vice President of Finance, and only for amounts of $20 (USD) or less, a credit for a future PMI-LIC event, product, or service may be granted to the person who made the payment and is now seeking a refund.  The amount of the credit may not be for the full amount paid.  In all cases the credit amount shall not be greater than the amount paid or $20 (USD) whichever is lowest.  The Vice President of Finance reserves the right to limit the use of the credit – for example, the Vice President of Finance may issue a credit for a chapter meeting and specify that the credit can only be applied towards a future, similar chapter meeting.

Full refunds will be given in the event of clerical errors made by PMILIC or its duly appointed representatives.  Such errors include but are not limited to errors in the published dates or times of an advertised event, and double-charging for an event, product, or service.

The PMILIC Board of Directors has directed the PMILIC Vice President of Finance to consider whether a failure to reimburse the person requesting the refund will result in that person being placed in a position of undue financial hardship.

Refund payments will be in US dollars and will have any losses deducted from the refunded amount.  Such losses can include but are not limited to transaction fees and changes in currency conversion rates.

Refund payments will be in the form decided by the PMILIC Vice President of Finance including but not limited to cash, personal check, bank check, or electronic credit to the credit card or online payment account used to make the original payment.
